Project Details

The University of South Carolina Alumni Center provides a long awaited home to the Gamecock Family. Featuring nearly 60,000 sf of multiuse space, the Alumni Center has quickly become the hub of campus activity. Not only does it play host to reunions and student activities, but the center is also a popular destination for corporate events, conferences, and business meetings.

When we embarked on this project, we knew that we had to share the story of the university that honors our rich past while also pushing toward the future. Jack Porter listened to our team and developed a strategy that is cutting edge, timeless, flexible and completely custom to us. It was truly a team effort and we are thrilled with the results.

The Strategy

Before the first shovel broke ground, the My Carolina leadership recognized that this building presented a unique opportunity to tell the story of the university like never before. Jack Porter worked hand in hand with the organization to create a state-of-the-art facility that features dynamic, engaging digital content and adaptable applications to celebrate the momentum and achievements of the university, showcase the student experience, and offers new ways to unite the Gamecock family.

The Momentum Wall

A multi-panel video wall presents an ever-changing array of current university news, social media, and alumni stories. The display is always evolving and growing, signifying the momentum of the university.

The Connections Wall

A multi-user touch table allows visitors to search through the entire directory of over 300,000 alumni. Once an alumnus is selected, the companion video wall displays data visualizations related to that individual's graduating class, school, and major.
