Project Details

Tulane University’s James W. Wilson, Jr. Center, the front door to Green Wave Athletics, underwent a dramatic transformation to reflect the program’s recent triumphs and modernized brand identity. Jack Porter spearheaded this 17,000 sq ft renovation, reimagining key spaces including the atrium, football corridors, team meeting room, and recruiting areas. The $1.75 million project focused on creating a lighter, brighter aesthetic that seamlessly blends Tulane’s refreshed brand with New Orleans’ vibrant spirit.

The dated stone and tile were replaced with bright white terrazzo floors and crisp, painted walls, injecting new life into the space. Innovative technology integration allows for adaptable messaging, serving up game-day appropriate content and interactive screens for visitors to explore Tulane’s rich athletic history. The football recruiting lounge makes a bold brand statement with dynamic lighting features, prominent brand marks, and a fully customizable LED screen, perfectly balancing Tulane’s iconic green with cooler tones. In the head football coach’s office, warm wood tones and backlit brand marks create an inviting yet professional atmosphere. This comprehensive renovation extends to multi-sport areas, ensuring a cohesive brand experience throughout the facility.

By modernizing the Wilson Center, Tulane has created an environment that not only celebrates its athletic achievements but also sets the stage for future success, providing a powerful tool for recruitment and reinforcing the “NOLA Built” ethos that defines Green Wave Athletics.
