The Challenge
Building on transformative updates that began in 2022, Duke Football’s Yoh Center entered its final phase of evolution. This culminating stage reimagines the 6,252 sq ft locker room and 5,246 sq ft third floor, elevating the facility to rival top Power Five and ACC programs. While initial renovations modernized key areas, this phase aims higher—creating an elite sanctuary for current players and a compelling first impression for recruits. Working within the original 2002 structure, Duke envisioned a space that would ignite Blue Devil pride and showcase the program’s bold future.
The Strategy
Jack Porter joined forces with architect SLAM and general contractor CT Wilson to breathe new life into the Yoh Center. Our strategy wove Duke’s iconic blue and white throughout the space, creating an experience that captures the essence of Blue Devil football. The third floor transformation split strategically—one half becoming a premium player retreat complete with a dedicated nap room, the other emerging as a dynamic recruiting hub. Through thoughtful content strategy and experience mapping, we crafted Instagram-worthy moments that resonate with today’s recruits while honoring Duke’s legacy. Modern materials and innovative design elements replaced dated finishes, setting a new standard for athletic facilities.
The Impact
The final chapter of Yoh Center’s transformation delivers a facility worthy of Duke Football’s ambitions. Players now step into a gameday-ready locker room that fuels competitive spirit, while the versatile third floor serves as both team sanctuary and recruiting showpiece. This strategic, phased approach ensures every space works harder and smarter for the program. More than a renovation, it’s a bold statement of Duke’s commitment to excellence—a modern, cohesive facility that sets the stage for Blue Devil Football’s next era of success.
