Project Details

In January of 2021, ahead of a much anticipated season, Boston College’s baseball and softball programs officially moved into the all-new Pete Frates Center.

This 31,000 sq ft addition to the Harrington Athletics Village honors former BC baseball captain and ALS fighter Pete Frates. It also is a huge investment in the Boston College baseball and softball’s training and practice facilities.

This new facility provides a definite upgrade—including an indoor turf practice area as well as team lounges, locker rooms, and recovery areas dedicated solely to the baseball and softball programs.

Be passionate, be genuine, be hardworking and don’t ever be afraid to be great.

THE STRATEGY

Boston College partnered with Jack Porter to develop an experience that would showcase BC’s focus on team development, instill pride in the student-athletes, and honor Pete Frates’ legacy. The resulting designs elevate an already beautiful facility to be the pride of the program.

Focusing on the team lounges and corridors for both storytelling and impact, our team designed spaces that invoke the timeless spirit and tradition that defines Boston College. Imagery in the team areas pay tribute to Boston, while custom millwork and original design elements showcase the brand and contribute to the classic tone of the space. Displays throughout the corridors convey the values of each program and highlight significant achievements.

THE IMPACT

The Pete Frates Center greatly enhances the student-athlete experience for both baseball and softball programs. It’s a true representation of their mission to leave a legacy for the next generation.
