The Challenge

Savannah’s EnMarket Arena, a 9,500-seat venue in the Canal District, was a transformative project led by the city, designed by Perkins + Will, constructed by AECOM Hunt, and managed by Oakview Group. Jack Porter was brought in to play a pivotal role with a threefold mission: create an effective signage system for venue navigation, infuse the space with cultural and environmental graphics reflecting Savannah’s heritage, and collaborate on hospitality concepts with Oakview Group and sponsors.

The Strategy

Inspired by Savannah’s urban textures, green spaces, and iconic layout, Jack Porter’s design integrates wood and steel beam accents to mirror the city’s warmth and industrial roots, seamlessly blending with the arena’s architecture. Environmental graphics celebrate Savannah’s culture, urban scenes, and natural beauty. A highlight is The Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame, honoring historic athletes prominently. Sponsor integration was a key focus, with designs harmonizing sponsor brands with the arena’s aesthetic, allowing for future graphic updates.

Impact

The EnMarket Arena, with its signage, environmental graphics, hall of fame exhibits, and sponsor integration, creates a unified environment bridging the Canal District and Savannah’s core, authentically capturing the city’s spirit.
