If you don’t know about the current arms race in collegiate golf, you haven’t been paying attention. The landscape of collegiate golf is increasingly competitive, with programs nationwide raising the bar through facility investments. The University of Alabama understood what was at stake. To maintain their position among the nation’s top programs, they committed to developing a new 9-hole golf course and clubhouse.
The university assembled an elite team to realize their vision: Love Golf Design’s mastery in course architecture, Kuo Diedrich Chi and Davis Architects’ expertise in design, and Jack Porter’s innovative approach to brand storytelling and experience design. The goal was clear: create a facility that would honor the Crimson Tide’s storied legacy while advancing their competitive edge for years to come.
The Strategy
Alabama Golf’s legacy demanded an approach that honored triumph and tradition while pushing boldly into the future. Working alongside Love Golf Design, Kuo Diedrich Chi, and Davis Architects, we crafted an experience that celebrates the program’s rich history while delivering modern, elite-level training facilities. The design balances timeless materials with contemporary elements – rich wood and leather complemented by natural light and brass accents. Complete parity between men’s and women’s facilities reflects Alabama’s commitment to excellence across all programs. Our team also developed the Crimson Reserve name and logo, creating a distinct identity for this new chapter in Alabama Golf’s story.

A refined gallery space and entrance with custom artwork, including a commissioned oil painting by Cassy Tully featuring the new course, championship trophies, and program achievements.
Women's Victory Suite
Women's Golf Wing: Bright architectural details and dimensional gold lettering anchor this elegant wing, where championship accomplishments are celebrated through thoughtfully curated displays and comfortable gathering spaces.
